A highly desirable pre-64 Winchester Model 70 chambered in .338 Winchester Magnum, manufactured in 1960 and presented in very good to excellent condition. This is a classic example of the legendary pre-64 magnum—strong, smooth, and built during the era that cemented the Model 70’s reputation as The Rifleman’s Rifle.
The rifle is fitted with a 25" barrel and retains its factory open sights, including a hooded front sight, making it both period-correct and field practical. It is topped with a Leupold VX-III 3.5–10x50mm featuring an illuminated Boone & Crockett reticle, mounted in Conetrol rings and base—a clean, rugged setup that complements the rifle without detracting from its lines.
Condition is excellent overall, showing only very light handling marks to the wood and metal, consistent with careful ownership. The rifle wears a factory Winchester recoil pad, includes sling swivels, and balances well at approximately 8 lbs without the scope and 9 lbs 3 oz with it mounted. A 13 9/16" LOP gives it comfortable, modern ergonomics.
A standout pre-64 .338 Win Mag—powerful, correct, and increasingly hard to find in this condition. Ideal for the Winchester collector or the hunter seeking a serious North American big-game rifle with true pedigree and lasting value.
