WINCHESTER MODEL 21 PRE WAR 12 GAUGE CUSTOM STOCKED BY UMBERGER

A classic American double in one of its most respected forms, this pre-war Winchester Model 21 represents the strength, longevity, and purposeful design that made the Model 21 the benchmark of American-built side-by-sides. Built to be used and built to last, pre-war guns in particular remain highly sought after for their workmanship and enduring reputation in the field.

This example is fitted with 32" solid rib barrels with 3" chambers, marked Modified/Modified and measuring .012 and .015 constrictions. It is important to note the barrels were added by CSMC and are not original to the gun, creating a very practical long-barrel configuration while preserving full transparency for the next owner. The gun is equipped with double triggers and ejectors, along with a beavertail forearm and pistol grip, offering a proven, sporting layout with excellent control.

The standout feature is the beautiful Turkish walnut stock by Umberger, a high-quality custom stocking job that elevates the gun’s overall presentation and feel. A Kick-Eez recoil pad has been fitted for comfort, especially appropriate in a long-barreled, heavier 12 gauge built for sustained shooting.

Weighing 8 lbs 2 oz, the gun has the steady, deliberate balance typical of a 32" Model 21—ideal for sporting clays, live bird shooting, or high-volume field use. Stock dimensions measure 14¾" length of pull, 1 11/16" drop at heel, and 1 5/8" drop at comb, providing modern, shootable proportions.

Condition is excellent, showing only very light handling marks consistent with careful storage and normal use.
