This is a rifle that stands on age, condition, and presence—not exaggeration.

The Winchester Model 1886 in .45-90 W.C.F., manufactured in 1894, represents the heavy-frame lever action at its most authoritative. Chambered for one of Winchester’s serious blackpowder-era cartridges, it was built for power, penetration, and reliability when those traits truly mattered. This example comes with documented provenance from the Tom Selleck Collection, adding a layer of historical and cultural significance that few 19th-century Winchesters can claim.

The rifle is fitted with a 26" round barrel, dovetail blade front sight, adjustable rear sight, full magazine, and crescent steel butt, preserving the long, purposeful profile that defines the Model 1886. At 8 lbs 14 oz with a 13⅛" LOP, it carries the mass and balance expected of a true big-bore lever gun from this era.

Condition is very good to excellent original, with exceptionally strong case colors present throughout—a feature that immediately sets this rifle apart. Only very minor handling is visible to the wood, consistent with careful storage rather than use. By any professional standard, it is an unusually well-preserved example of an early Model 1886.

A standout 19th-century Winchester, elevated further by its association with Tom Selleck, this is a rifle that commands attention on merit alone—made even more compelling by provenance. A truly exceptional Winchester Model 1886 in one of its most respected chamberings.
