A highly desirable and historically important American classic — Winchester Model 1873 Deluxe Special Order in .44-40, completed in 1876, and formerly from the Tom Selleck Collection.

This is a First Model 1873, retaining its early features and early barrel markings, and factory lettered with a 28" octagon barrel. The rifle is further equipped with a Lyman combination tang peep sight, enhancing both period authenticity and practical shootability. The presence of a set trigger adds to its special-order status and collector appeal.

Configured with a traditional steel butt plate, the rifle maintains the strong visual presence expected of a long-barreled Deluxe ’73. At 9 lbs 5 oz with a 12¾" length of pull, it carries the substantial feel typical of early long-octagon frontier rifles.

Condition is described as very good to excellent original, an impressive level of preservation for a rifle completed in 1876. Finish, markings, and configuration reflect careful survival rather than later embellishment.

As a First Model, special-order Deluxe example with factory documentation and provenance from the Tom Selleck Collection, this 1873 represents a significant opportunity to acquire a high-quality, early production Winchester from one of the most iconic lever-action platforms ever produced.
