Built for precision rather than volume, this Winchester Model 12-1B Pigeon Grade 20 Gauge, made in 1963, reflects the lighter, faster end of Winchester’s competition-focused Model 12 offerings.
The gun wears a 26" three-pin Duckbill vent rib barrel choked WS-1 (.003) with 2¾" chamber, a setup clearly aimed at quick target acquisition and soft, even patterns. Pigeon Grade details include the engine-turned bolt and carrier and a capped pistol-grip stock, finished with a Winchester butt plate—subtle refinements that distinguish it from standard production guns without excess ornamentation.
Condition is excellent original, showing only the slightest handling to wood and metal from careful storage and light use. At 7 pounds with a 14" length of pull, it balances lively in the hands and carries the smooth, controlled swing that made the Model 12 such a dominant competition gun.
A focused, lightweight Pigeon Grade Model 12—built to shoot cleanly, move quickly, and stand apart through execution rather than excess.
