WESTLEY RICHARDS SXS CUSTOM DROP LOCK 12 GAUGE

A distinguished British sporting gun with bespoke embellishment, this Westley Richards Side-by-Side Custom Droplock 12 Gauge showcases the firm’s renowned mechanical innovation paired with tasteful, later custom work.

Built on the celebrated Droplock action, the gun is fitted with 29" solid rib barrels choked Full and Full (.042/.050), 2¾" chambers, and proofed NP 1⅛ oz, reflecting a configuration intended for decisive, long-range shooting. Barrel dimensions are sound, with .741 bores and .024/.023 wall thickness, appropriate for continued sporting use.

The gun is configured with double triggers, extractors, a splinter forearm, English grip, and a leather-covered recoil pad, maintaining classic Westley Richards form. Notably, a prior owner commissioned Angelo Bee to add gold duck inlays on the floorplate, a tasteful enhancement that complements the gun’s character without detracting from its British elegance. The safety is disengaged, consistent with period sporting preferences.

Weighing 6 lbs 8 oz, with dimensions of 2 7/16" DAH, 1½" DAC, and 14¼" LOP, the gun balances lightly and handles with the liveliness expected of a best-quality Westley Richards.

Condition is very good, showing handling marks to the wood and metal consistent with careful use rather than abuse.

A distinctive Westley Richards Droplock—mechanically excellent, properly proportioned, and enhanced with custom gold work—appealing to the collector who values both British innovation and tasteful individuality.
