STEYR MODEL S TROPICAL 458 WIN MAG

Built for serious work in heavy cover, this Steyr Model S Tropical in .458 Winchester Magnum delivers the strength and reliability expected of a true dangerous-game rifle.

It features a 25" ported barrel fitted with iron sights, giving the shooter both recoil mitigation and dependable backup aiming capability. A Kahles Helia 1.1–4.5x20 scope is mounted, offering a wide field of view and quick target acquisition—ideal for close, fast encounters where the .458 excels.

The rifle is equipped with set triggers, allowing the shooter to choose between a standard hunting pull or a lighter, precision break when conditions permit. The stock incorporates a cheekpiece and factory recoil pad, balancing control and comfort under recoil. Notably, it includes two 4-shot rotary magazines and a reserve magazine storage compartment in the stock, a practical feature for extended hunts.

Condition is good overall, showing light handling marks, minor blue wear in spots along the barrel, and wear visible at the bottom of the receiver (see photos). Mechanically sound and purpose-built, it weighs 9 lbs 15 oz with a 13 3/4" length of pull, giving it the mass necessary to manage recoil while remaining field portable.

A capable, ready-to-hunt .458 Winchester Magnum—functional, proven, and built for real-world use rather than the display case.
