A highly desirable Smith & Wesson Model of 1950 .44 Target, the direct predecessor to the famed Model 24, and one of the finest target revolvers ever built on the N-frame. This example dates to 1953–1954 and represents the golden era of postwar S&W craftsmanship.

Built on the 5-screw N-frame with a square butt, it is fitted with the correct 6½" pinned barrel, ramped front sight, and adjustable rear sight, delivering excellent balance and superb shootability. Chambered in .44 S&W Special, these revolvers have long been prized for their accuracy, smooth recoil impulse, and refined manners on the range.

This revolver remains in excellent condition, retaining strong original finish and crisp details, with only a light, honest cylinder drag line—entirely consistent with careful use. It wears its original Magna walnut grips, adding to its correctness and collector appeal. No box accompanies the revolver.

An increasingly scarce pre-Model 24 .44 Target, offering classic lines, exceptional shooting characteristics, and strong long-term collector interest—an outstanding example of Smith & Wesson at its best.
