A classic first-generation American double-action semi-auto, this Smith & Wesson Model 59 in 9mm, dating to circa 1978, represents one of the earliest high-capacity service pistols produced by a major U.S. manufacturer. As a development of the Model 39, the Model 59 helped set the template for modern double-stack duty pistols.
This example is fitted with a 4" barrel and adjustable sights, and finished in factory nickel, giving it a distinctive period look. It wears wood grips and features grooved front and back straps, enhancing control while retaining classic S&W styling.
Condition is very good, showing some handling marks consistent with normal use. The pistol remains mechanically sound and is accompanied by one magazine. No box or paperwork is included.
An increasingly collectible Model 59—important historically, well-configured, and a representative example of Smith & Wesson’s early entry into the high-capacity 9mm market.
