A superb example of Remington’s legendary Model 40-X Sporter Repeater, chambered in .22 LR and manufactured in January 1972. Built on the same precision action that made the 40-X a benchmark in competitive shooting, the Sporter variant adds refined field styling without sacrificing accuracy.

This rifle is fitted with a 24" barrel with no sights and is factory drilled and tapped for scope bases, giving it a clean, purposeful profile ideal for scoped use. The checkered walnut stock features a raised cheekpiece and elegant rosewood grip and forearm caps, details that elevate it well above utilitarian target rifles. A hard rubber buttplate and sling swivel studs complete the configuration.

Condition is excellent, near new, showing only minimal handling marks from careful storage. At 7 lbs 12 oz, the rifle has a solid, steady feel that promotes accuracy while remaining well balanced. A 13 5/16" LOP gives it comfortable, classic proportions.

An increasingly scarce 40-X Sporter Repeater—combining target-grade precision with traditional sporting refinement. A standout rimfire for the Remington collector or the shooter who appreciates one of the finest factory .22 bolt actions ever produced.
