A purpose-built American long-range double, this L.C. Smith Ideal Long Range 12 Gauge represents one of Hunter Arms’ most serious waterfowl and live-bird configurations. Designed to handle heavy loads and extended shooting distances, the Long Range models are prized for their strength, weight, and deliberate balance.
This example is fitted with 32" solid rib barrels choked Full and Full (.040/.040) and chambered for 3" shells, giving it the reach and pattern density these guns were built for. Traditional features include double triggers, ejectors, a splinter forearm, pistol grip, and a butt plate, all in keeping with the model’s purposeful, no-nonsense design.
Weighing 8 lbs 12 oz, with dimensions of 2⅞" DAH, 1 5/8" DAC, and 14¼" LOP, it has the mass and proportions intended to manage heavy loads comfortably. Condition is very good to excellent, showing only light handling to the wood and metal consistent with careful use and storage.
A strong, honest L.C. Smith Long Range—built for serious shooting and increasingly hard to find in this configuration.
