A well-executed custom sporting rifle built on one of America’s finest actions, this Keith Stegall custom pre-64 Winchester Model 70 in .243 Winchester blends classic Winchester engineering with tasteful, period-correct custom work.
The rifle is built on a 1957-dated pre-64 Model 70 receiver and fitted with a 24" heavy barrel carrying a Redfield front sight, while remaining drilled and tapped for optics. Stocked in a Monte Carlo pattern with a cheek piece, it features a steel-capped pistol grip, Niedner-style butt plate, and sling swivel studs, all contributing to a purposeful yet elegant custom profile typical of high-quality American rifle work from this era.
Condition is very good, showing light handling from storage and use, with honest wear consistent with careful ownership rather than hard use. The rifle weighs 8 lbs 10 oz and measures 13½" LOP, offering solid bench stability while remaining well balanced for field shooting.
