JOSEF JUST GOLD AND SILVER INLAID SIDELOCK O/U DOUBLE RIFLE IN 9.3X74R WITH 2 EXTRA BARREL SETS: COMBINATION 12GA OVER 7X57R AND 12 GAUGE BBLS

Josef Just Gold & Silver Inlaid Sidelock O/U Double Rifle | 9.3x74R | Three-Barrel Set | Made 1969

An extraordinary Josef Just sidelock over/under sporting arm, manufactured in 1969 and presented as a highly versatile three-barrel set comprising a 9.3x74R double rifle, 12 gauge over 7x57R combination gun, and 12 gauge shotgun. Gold and silver inlay, Bohler Rasant steel barrels, period European optics, and traditional claw mounts complete a package representative of high-grade Austrian gunmaking.

The action features double single-set triggers, ribbed cocking indicators, and a tang-mounted automatic safety. Length of pull measures 14 1/4".

The primary 9.3x74R double-rifle barrels measure 25 5/8" and are constructed of Bohler Rasant steel with a full-length matted solid rib. Sighting consists of a white-bead blade front sight on an integral ramped base and a fixed-notch rear sight on a raised quarter rib. A Kahles Helia-Super 1.5-4.5x scope is fitted in traditional claw mounts. The barrels are equipped with ejectors. Weight is 8 lbs. 15 oz. without the scope and 9 lbs. 13 oz. with the scope.

The second set transforms the gun into a 12 gauge over 7x57R combination gun. These 24 7/8" Bohler Rasant steel barrels carry the same full-length matted solid rib, ramped white-bead front sight, and raised quarter rib with fixed-notch rear sight. A Zeiss Diavari D 1.5-6x scope is fitted in claw mounts. The 12 gauge barrel has a 2 3/4" chamber and is choked Full (.038 constriction). Ejectors are fitted. Weight is 8 lbs. without the scope and 9 lbs. 4 oz. with the scope.

Completing the set is a dedicated pair of 28 1/2" 12 gauge Bohler Rasant steel shotgun barrels with a ventilated rib, 2 3/4" chambers, and Full and Full chokes (.034 and .037 constrictions). In shotgun configuration, the gun weighs 7 lbs. 7 oz.

The scope of this set is what separates it from the typical European double rifle. With one action, the owner has a substantial 9.3x74R double rifle for large game, a highly versatile 12 gauge/7x57R combination gun, and a conventional 12 gauge over/under shotgun. Both rifle-capable barrel sets retain their own quality period optics in claw mounts.

With its gold and silver inlay, sidelock action, three fitted barrel sets, Bohler Rasant steel, Kahles and Zeiss optics, and multiple sporting configurations, this Josef Just represents an unusually complete expression of the traditional Continental gunmaker's art.
