JOHN WARREN CUSTOM G33/40 270 WINCHESTER

A finely executed American custom sporting rifle — John Warren Custom G33/40 chambered in .270 Winchester, built on the desirable small-ring Mauser G33/40 action.

The G33/40 platform is prized for its light weight and trim proportions, making it an excellent foundation for a classic mountain rifle. This example features a 24" barrel and is fitted with a Leupold M8 4X scope mounted in a Jaeger sidemount, a period-correct and highly practical setup that preserves clean lines while allowing quick optic removal if desired.

The rifle showcases thoughtful custom detailing throughout, including a four-panel checkered and jeweled bolt, an engraved steel grip cap, and an engraved steel trapdoor butt plate, blending understated elegance with functional design. These elements reflect traditional American custom rifle aesthetics without excess.

Weighing 8 lbs 11 oz with the scope installed and carrying a 13½" length of pull, the rifle balances as a steady yet field-practical .270 — well suited for open country hunting where reach and precision matter.

Condition remains excellent, presenting cleanly with no noted issues.

A classic John Warren custom built on one of the most respected Mauser variants, chambered in a proven all-around cartridge — a refined and highly usable sporting rifle with enduring appeal.
