JOHN BOLLIGER SIGNATURE SERIES CUSTOM G33-40 MAUSER 270 WIN LEE GRIFFITHS ENGRAVED

A masterfully executed custom rifle built without compromise, this John Bolliger Signature Series G33-40 Mauser represents the very best of modern American custom gunmaking. Completed in 2010 with over 300 man-hours invested, it reflects the combined talents of John Bolliger, Dean Zollinger, John Bolliger Jr., and engraver Lee Griffiths—a collaboration rarely seen at this level.

Built on the classic G33-40 Mauser action, the rifle is fitted with a 23" Krieger match barrel chambered in the timeless and supremely versatile .270 Winchester. The action and metalwork are elevated by Lee Griffiths’ engraving, a jeweled bolt, skeleton grip, Blackburn Mauser trigger, and inletted swing swivels—every detail purposeful, refined, and expertly finished.

The stock is carved from select exhibition-grade Turkish walnut, cut from the same blank as another known SBFG rifle, and finished with crisp five-panel checkering and a steel butt plate. A Swarovski Z6 1.7–10x42 scope is properly matched to the rifle, making it equally at home in the field or the collection.

Offered in excellent, as-new condition, the rifle is housed in a custom Marvin Huey case insert (exterior shell available directly from Huey, who retains the specifications).

This is a fully realized custom Mauser—balanced, powerful, and elegant—and a rare opportunity to acquire a top-tier .270 Winchester rifle at well below today’s build cost.
