JOH. SPRINGER CUSTOM MANNLICHER SHOENAUER 1903 FULL STOCK CARBINE 6.5X54 MS

A beautifully executed and highly desirable Alpine sporting rifle, this Joh. Springer custom Mannlicher-Schönauer Model 1903 Full-Stock Carbine in 6.5×54 MS exemplifies Austrian gunmaking at its finest—combining mechanical excellence, elegant styling, and thoughtful custom features.

The rifle is built on the renowned Mannlicher-Schönauer 1903 action and fitted with an 18" barrel with a rear flip-up sight and ramped front sight, retaining classic carbine proportions. It wears a full Mannlicher stock and features double set triggers, a butter-knife bolt handle, steel-capped pistol grip, sling swivels, and a steel butt plate with trap door, all executed to a high standard.

Notable custom touches include an early Austrian scope mounted in see-through mounts, allowing use of the irons, along with a Lyman rear peep sight. Particularly clever is the push-button pop-up comb, designed to raise the cheekpiece for scope use—an advanced and practical feature seldom encountered on period sporting rifles.

Condition is very good to excellent original, showing only light handling from careful storage and use. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, and the rifle weighs 7 lbs 15 oz with a 14 3/16" LOP, balancing solidly while retaining classic Mannlicher handling characteristics.

A refined and thoughtfully configured Joh. Springer Mannlicher-Schönauer—rich in features, beautifully preserved, and highly appealing to the collector of fine European sporting rifles.
