HARTMANN & WEISS BEST MAGAZINE RIFLE 338 WIN MAG

A superb example of modern German best-gun rifle making, this Hartmann & Weiss Best Magazine Rifle in .338 Winchester Magnum reflects the firm’s uncompromising standards in both execution and design. Purpose-built for serious hunting, yet finished to true best-gun levels, it balances power, elegance, and precision.

The rifle is fitted with a 24" barrel and quarter rib carrying one standing and two folding rear sights, paired with a barrel-banded front ramp sight for a classic and practical sighting arrangement. It is equipped with a claw-mounted Zeiss Diavari VM 1.5–6×42 scope with duplex reticle, a period-correct and highly regarded optic that complements the rifle perfectly.

The action, bolt, trigger guard, floorplate, and grip cap are all case colored, with extended top and bottom tangs, a trap-door grip cap, and a finely executed five-panel checkered bolt—hallmarks of Hartmann & Weiss craftsmanship. Additional features include a barrel-banded front sling swivel, ebony forend tip, and a properly shaped cheek piece, resulting in a rifle that is both functional and visually striking.

Condition is excellent, showing only light handling to the wood. The rifle weighs 10 lbs 3 oz with the scope and approximately 9 lbs without, with a 14¼" length of pull, offering steady, confident handling well suited to the .338 Winchester Magnum.

A true Hartmann & Weiss best rifle—refined, powerful, and impeccably built, representing the pinnacle of contemporary German sporting rifle craftsmanship.
