GARY GOUDY CUSTOM MAUSER 257 ROBERTS

A finely executed Gary Goudy custom Mauser, chambered in the classic .257 Roberts—a cartridge long favored for its balance of efficiency, mild recoil, and excellent field performance.

Built around a Mauser action, this rifle features a 24" half-octagon / half-round barrel fitted with a full-length rib and traditional express-style iron sights consisting of one standing and three folding leaves, giving it both practical utility and strong visual presence. Optics are provided by a Leupold Vari-X III 2.5–8x, mounted in quick-detach mounts, allowing seamless transition between scope and irons.

Details include a two-panel checkered bolt, and a Niedner-style steel butt plate with trap door, reinforcing the rifle’s classic custom pedigree. Weight is a steady 8 lbs 15 oz, with a 13½" length of pull, making it well suited for deliberate field shooting.

Condition is excellent, with no issues noted—an honest, well-kept custom rifle from Gary Goudy, executed in a timeless chambering and configuration that will appeal to both collectors of classic American custom rifles and serious hunters alike.
