G. Bate Boxlock 16 Gauge | 30" Barrels
A well-balanced G. Bate boxlock 16 gauge, carrying the "Woodcock Hill" name and configured as a classic British game gun.
The gun is fitted with 30" solid rib barrels, choked Skeet and Improved Cylinder (.006 and .010 constrictions) with 2 3/4" chambers, providing an ideal setup for upland hunting and close-to-medium range game shooting.
Features include double triggers, extractor, splinter forearm, English grip stock, and butt plate, preserving the traditional layout favored on lightweight British field guns.
The gun remains in very good condition with some light handling to the wood and metal finishes, presenting as a well-cared-for example.
Weighing only 6 lbs. 4 oz., with stock dimensions of 2 1/4" DAH, 1 7/16" DAC, and 14 1/4" LOP, the gun offers the lively handling and effortless carry that have long made the 16 gauge a favorite among upland hunters.
The combination of a lightweight 16 gauge action, 30" barrels, and traditional British configuration is increasingly difficult to find, making this an appealing choice for the sportsman looking for a practical game gun with classic proportions.
