A finely made Italian boxlock from one of the most respected bespoke houses of the modern era, this A&S FAMARS Abbiatico & Salvinelli Excalibur BL Round Body 12 Gauge, completed in 2004, exemplifies the craftsmanship, balance, and mechanical refinement for which Famars is renowned. Produced in extremely limited numbers—often fewer than 100 guns annually—each Famars was built as an individual custom order, incorporating the firm’s patented action and lifetime-warranty standards.

This example features a round-body boxlock action engraved by Pasolini, with elegant coverage that complements the gun’s clean lines. It is fitted with 30" solid rib barrels choked Modified and Full (.015/.030) with 2¾" chambers, offering classic field and driven-bird versatility. Additional features include a single trigger, ejectors, field forearm, English grip, and checkered butt, all executed in traditional best-gun fashion.

The gun remains in very good condition, showing handling to the wood and metal consistent with careful use and storage. There are visible signs of past surface rust at the barrel-to-rib junction, likely the result of bluing salts migrating from a prior repair. Importantly, there are no structural concerns—the rib is sound, and the barrels ring true, confirming proper integrity.

Weighing 6 lbs 13 oz, with dimensions of 2 1/8" DAH, 1 1/2" DAC, and 14 9/16" LOP, the gun balances beautifully and carries easily. It is cased in its original factory case with dust cover, and includes accessories such as a spare set of springs and firing pins—a thoughtful and uncommon addition.
