DALE GOENS CLAUSS WILLIG CUSTOM PRE 64 MODEL 70 270 WINCHESTER

A distinguished American custom sporting rifle — Dale Goens / Clauss Willig custom built on a pre-64 Winchester Model 70 action, chambered in .270 Winchester.

This rifle represents the collaboration of two respected names in American custom gunmaking. Dale Goens was known for his clean, properly proportioned stocking work, while Clauss Willig’s metal craftsmanship added refinement and subtle elegance. Built on the controlled-round-feed pre-64 Model 70, the rifle carries the mechanical integrity that has made the platform legendary.

The rifle is fitted with a 23" barrel, maintaining excellent balance in the classic .270 Winchester chambering. Custom details include an engraved steel grip cap, a two-panel bolt, and a checkered steel trapdoor butt plate, reinforcing the rifle’s traditional, no-nonsense sporting character.

Weighing 8 lbs 4 oz with a 13½" length of pull, it carries as a properly built field rifle — steady, well-balanced, and ideally suited for open-country hunting where the .270 Winchester excels.

A clean and purposeful Goens/Willig custom — blending strong American custom rifle tradition with one of the finest sporting actions ever produced.
