COLT WOODSMAN FIRST SERIES TARGET MODEL 22 LR

Manufactured in 1942, this Colt Woodsman First Series Target Model is one of the most iconic American rimfire pistols ever produced—valued for its sleek profile, excellent balance, and the refined feel that made the Woodsman a standard among serious target shooters for decades. The First Series guns remain especially desirable for their early Colt craftsmanship and classic pre-war style.

This example is fitted with the longer 6 5/8" barrel and target configuration, featuring a target front sight and wind-drift adjustable rear sight. It retains its correct molded plastic grips, maintaining the period-correct appearance. The pistol is accompanied by a matching box, a notable bonus that adds collectability and presentation value.

Condition is good, showing handling and use with visible blue wear (see photos). Importantly, the bore is bright and shiny, supporting its continued appeal as both a collectible Colt and an enjoyable shooter.

A correct 1942 Colt Woodsman First Series Target Model—an honest example with strong mechanical appeal, a bright bore, and the added value of its matching box.
