A clean Colt Challenger .22 LR, manufactured in 1953 and based on the same general design as the Second Series Colt Woodsman.

The pistol features a 4 1/2" barrel with fixed sights, magazine release, and a set of faux stag grips that give this example a distinctive appearance. One magazine is included.

Introduced as a more straightforward alternative within Colt's post-war rimfire pistol line, the Challenger retained much of the balance and handling associated with the Woodsman while eliminating some of the more elaborate features of the higher-priced models.

This pistol remains in excellent condition, showing only extremely light handling from careful storage and limited use. No box is included.

With its 1953 production date, compact 4 1/2" barrel, and excellent overall condition, this is a sharp example of Colt's classic post-war .22 automatic and an appealing companion to the better-known Woodsman series.
