Baker Gun Co. R Grade 12 Gauge | 28" Krupp Steel Barrels

A particularly well-preserved Baker Gun Co. R Grade 12 gauge, combining Krupp steel barrels with the originality and straightforward field configuration that make early Baker doubles appealing to American gun collectors.

The gun is fitted with 28" solid rib Krupp steel barrels, choked Improved Cylinder and Modified (.013 and .019 constrictions) with 2 3/4" chambers. The shorter 28" barrels and relatively open choke combination make this a notably different configuration from the long-barreled, tightly choked doubles commonly encountered from the period.

Traditional features include double triggers, extractor, splinter forearm, pistol grip stock, and butt plate.

The standout feature of this example is its condition. The gun remains in excellent original condition with very light handling to the wood and metal surfaces, retaining the character of an unaltered Baker rather than a restored example.

Weight is 7 lbs. 5 oz., with stock dimensions of 3" DAH, 1 11/16" DAC, and 14 1/4" LOP.
