ABBIATICO & SALVINELLI – AFRICA EXPRESS DOUBLE RIFLE 470 NITRO

A modern Italian dangerous-game rifle built with classic British influence — Abbiatico & Salvinelli Africa Express Double Rifle in .470 Nitro Express.

Configured with 25" barrels and a traditional quarter rib carrying one standing and one folding leaf sight, this rifle is purpose-built for serious safari work. The sighting arrangement offers a clean, instinctive picture for close cover while providing an additional regulated distance for longer shots — exactly what one expects in a proper .470 NE.

The rifle features double triggers and ejectors, giving the shooter complete mechanical control and rapid follow-up capability. A substantial beavertail forearm offers a secure hold under recoil and sustained shooting, while the classic pistol grip stock helps manage the authority of the .470 cartridge.

Weighing 11 lbs 8 oz, the rifle carries the proper mass to balance recoil without feeling cumbersome in hand. Stock dimensions measure 14 1/2" length of pull, proportioned for practical field use.

Condition remains excellent, showing only minimal evidence of careful handling.

The Africa Express series represents Abbiatico & Salvinelli’s interpretation of the classic safari double — substantial, reliable, and regulated for serious use. A capable and handsome .470 Nitro Express suited for both the field and the collection.
