A finely executed modern interpretation of an American classic — A.H. Fox (CSMC) FE Special 28 Gauge, built by Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Company to honor the lines and handling of the original Philadelphia Fox guns.
This FE Special is fitted with 28" solid rib barrels choked Full and Full (.045 / .045) with 2¾" chambers — a purposeful and somewhat uncommon configuration in a 28 bore, offering dense, decisive patterns for longer upland presentations or sporting use where reach matters.
The gun retains the traditional Fox layout with double triggers, ejectors, splinter forearm, and a straight English grip, terminating in a classic checkered butt. At just 5 lbs 7 oz, it is exceptionally lively in hand, yet the longer barrels provide enough forward presence for controlled, deliberate swing.
Stock dimensions measure 2 1/2" drop at heel, 1 1/2" drop at comb, and a generous 14 9/16" length of pull, giving the gun modern shootability while preserving traditional proportions.
Condition is excellent, essentially as new, with only the faintest handling marks from storage. The gun is housed in its case.
A highly refined small-bore Fox by CSMC — combining vintage American styling, modern build quality, and the unique authority of tight-choked 28 gauge barrels in a lightweight, elegant platform.
