A top-tier L.C. Smith Crown Grade, built in 1926 and representing the pinnacle of Hunter Arms production. This is a serious, high-condition Crown configured for authoritative shooting and refined handling—exactly what one expects from Smith’s highest grade.
The gun is fitted with 30" solid rib barrels choked IC and Full (.012 / .040) with 2¾" chambers, delivering excellent pattern versatility. It features a single selective trigger, automatic ejectors, beavertail forearm, pistol grip, and a recoil pad, combining classic Crown Grade presence with practical shootability. At 7 lbs 13 oz, the gun has the steady, deliberate feel favored for longer barrels and driven work.
Condition is very good to excellent, showing light handling to the wood, while retaining original, vivid case colors—a key value point on Crown Grades. The gun has been restocked by Dan Rossiter, a respected name in American stockmaking, and the barrels have been professionally reblued, resulting in a sharp, correct presentation that balances originality with refinement.
A standout L.C. Smith Crown Grade 12 Gauge—handsome, powerful, and properly appointed—offering advanced-grade appeal without sacrificing real-world shootability. An excellent opportunity for the Smith collector or sportsman seeking a flagship American double.
