A.H. FOX B GRADE 12 GAUGE PHILLY GUN

A.H. Fox B Grade 12 Gauge | Philadelphia Gun | Made 1914

A desirable Philadelphia-made A.H. Fox B Grade 12 gauge, manufactured in 1914 and retaining its original receiver finish, case colors, and barrels.

The gun is fitted with 28" solid rib barrels, choked Skeet and Modified (.004 and .021 constrictions) with 2 3/4" chambers. The open right barrel paired with the tighter left provides a particularly useful combination for upland and general field shooting.

The classic Fox configuration includes double triggers, extractor, splinter forearm, pistol grip stock, and butt plate.

Condition is excellent overall with minimal handling to the wood and metal finishes. The stock has been reconditioned, while importantly, the receiver metal and case colors remain original and the barrels retain their original finish. This distinction is worth noting on a graded Philadelphia Fox, where original metal finishes are an important part of the gun's appeal.

At 6 lbs. 10 oz., the gun is relatively trim for a 12 gauge. Stock dimensions measure 3" DAH, 1 5/8" DAC, and 14 1/16" LOP.

The B Grade occupies an appealing position among graded Fox guns, offering considerably more finish and character than a Sterlingworth while retaining the clean, purposeful lines for which Philadelphia Fox doubles are known. With its 1914 production date, original metal finishes, 28" barrels, and excellent overall condition, this is a strong example of an early graded Fox that remains equally appealing as a collectible American double or a classic field gun.
